Summary AAG KK Agha said that government has decided to pay compensation to families of missing persons.
Three member bench of Supreme Court headed by Justice Shakirullah heard the missing person’s case. AAG assured the court about the payments of compensation. Justice Shakirullah said that we will look into the matter that whether Supreme Court should hear the case or it should be transfer to the commission.Two more cases have been sent to the commission today by the Supreme Court. Supreme Court directed the commission to submit report within 6 weeks.Chairperson Defence of Human Rights Pakistan Amina Masood Janjua said that the compensation to be paid to selected families of missing persons is too little. The AAG clarified that actually it is ‘Guzara Allowance’ rather than compensation. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till November 16.
