Summary Lahore High Court Chief Justice has ordered to establish task force to curb Patwaris corruption.
When the Chief Justice started hearing of the case, the counsel on the part of Punjab said that 14 patwaris had been terminated while 19 were suspended due to corruption.At this, the CJ remarked that it is not proper solution to the issue; they would be restored on next hearing. The Punjab’s counsel argued if Patwaris has no fear of God, what we can do in this regard.The Chief Justice ordered to form a Task Force comprising senior officers in order to eradicate corruption of Patwaris, adding that it is responsibility of the Punjab government to provide facilities to the people but the court has to do this function. The court has also ordered the Punjab government to submit detailed report after formation of the suggested task force within a month.
