Summary SC has sought report about the action taken against officers who have hindered payment of salaries.
A 3-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took up the case of non-payment of salaries to staff of colleges running under Punjab Pilot Project here Wednesday.Advocate General of Punjab Khawaja Haris told the court the report published in local newspaper about non payment of salaries was not authentic as salaries had been paid to staff. However employees of 6 colleges of Lahore and 1 college of Jhelum had refused to get salary, he told.The court said if the report proved false then notice be issued against the owner of the newspaper. The court, however, ordered to take action against the responsible persons due to contradictions found in the reports presented a day before. The court adjourned the hearing of the case for two weeks.
