US asks Pakistan to eliminate safe havens of Haqqanis

Briefing the newsmen, White House spokesman Jay Carney said that Haqqani network using Pakistani territories to carry out attacks on Afghanistan.He said that safe havens of the militant groups exist near Pak-Afghan border. He asked Pakistan to take steps to eliminate safe havens of Haqqani network and other militant groups and in areas.White House spokesman said that members of Haqqani network from Pakistan are carrying attacks on US forces based in Afghanistan.The spokesman further said that these militants are not only a threat to US soldiers, but are also threat to Pakistan and Afghanistan.Replying to a question, the White House spokesman said that US will continue reconciliation process in Afghanistan. However, the US will reconcile with only those who respect Afghan constitution.
