Summary Supreme Court has sought report on heredity rights of eunuchs from federal and provincial govts.

The bench of Supreme Court resumed the hearing under the supervision of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary regarding the case of rights of eunuchs on the writ filed by President All Pakistan She-male Association Almas Bobby.Advocate Aslam Khaki represented the eunuchs in the court. During proceeding Director NADRA told the court that two posts have been reserved for them in his department. Similarly Director Social Welfare Punjab apprised the bench that all the DCOs in the province are taking concrete measures for transferring their inherited property to their name. The provincial government has succeeded to confer 26 canal of land to a eunuch at Sialkot.The President She-male Association informed the court that WASA takes tax from them in Karachi despite the fact that their earning is very meager. The representative of Sindh government told the court that the eunuchs have also been included in anti-polio and anti-hepatitis drives.In his remarks, the Chief Justice said that the eunuchs are part of society and they should be given due respect and rights. They could not be deprived of the right of inheritance.The court summoned all Chief Secretaries and Chief Commissioner Islamabad to submit report on the heredity rights of eunuchs on November 14.
