Summary Pakistan Railways has suspended 100 trains out of 204 due to shortage of engines.
According to railway authorities, a cheque of Rs 25 million has been given to Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and PSO will release 10 Lac liter diesels to Pakistan Railways (PR). However, railway sources said that this diesel will only be sufficient for 3 to 4 days operations.Half of passenger and goods trains are completely suspended, however, only those good trains are on the tracks through which diesel is being transported.
