Summary Punjab CM has taken notice of women torture incident and ordered stern action against guilty.
Shahbaz Sharif took notice on the news of Dunya News wherein Chiniot policemen were shown torturing women mercilessly. The CM has ordered the police high-ups to submit a complete report of the incident within 24 hours. The CM vowed that the responsible would be treated sternly.The CM has ordered sending a team of high-level police officials to Chiniot to carry out investigations.Earlier, a federal sensitive agency sent a report of the incident to Islamabad. Two SHOs and 25 police personnel were named responsible for torturing the women who were protesting against the murder of a man from their family on his wedding day. According to sources, the report sent by the sensitive agency’s Faisalabad office reads that Chiniot City Police SHO Sheikh Tahir and SHO Sadar Police Zafar Ahmad are responsible for police torture.DPO Shahzad Akbar ordered to remove the women from the road, the report said, adding that there is no case against the deceased Anwar Ali in district Chiniot. The DPO has claimed in his report that the whole family was criminal and had several cases against them. He had also said that the family was in habit of protesting after committing crimes in order to divert attention.Chiniot Police Saturday tortured the women who were protesting against murder of a groom on his wedding day.The policemen had exhibited brazen cruelty by torturing women of the family that has lost their dear one to the firing of a constable, Nasrullah, on his wedding day. As if the murder on the wedding day was not enough of a tragedy that police crossed all limits of inhumane treatment by kicking and thrashing the women of the family.The women were protesting against the murder of Anwar Ali by placing his dead body in front of the DPO office as a way to press justice. But what the cops did on orders from the sturdy DPO has shamed all who believe in the rule of law.After the CM taking notice of the incident, the Chiniot DPO has taken a clear U-turn. He has suspended the Saddar Police SHO and three policemen, and has ordered a judicial inquiry into the grooms killing on his wedding day. Earlier, the DPO claimed that whole of tortured family was criminal and had numerous cases against them. Police records however show that the salin goom did not have any case against him.
