After the news on Dunya TV, the Aza Khel Dry Port Trust interested in getting the land on lease has shied away, while Trust Chairman Mohsin Aziz has also stepped down. All was set to lease out the land worth Rs 700 million to the Trust, run by Bilour’s relative, for a meager amount of Rs 2.2 million per annum for a period of 33 years. The proposed dry port was to be used for customs clearance for goods transported to and from Afghanistan by road or train. All the revenue was considered to be the sole right of the private company. The Railways financial adviser declared the lease deal unbeneficial. The Trust informed about its chairman’s resignation during a relevant meeting held in Islamabad.
