Addressing a gathering in Multan, the prime minister said that Pakistan has time and again made it clear to all that it wants international and bilateral ties to be based on mutual respect.Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani denied the fresh allegations raised by Afghanistan that Pakistan was involved in the killing of Burhanuddin Rabbani, the former Afghan president. He said the campaign against Pakistan must stop and peace be given a fair chance. He said Afghan President Hamid Karzai must have some misunderstandings, which would be removed. However, no one should point fingers at Pakistan, he added.Gilani said Mullens statements have created distances and misunderstandings between Pakistan and the United States.Kabul earlier said it has provided evidence regarding Rabbani’s killing to Pakistani embassy, saying the plot was hatched in and executed from a suburb of Quetta.The PM on Saturday laid the foundation stone of 57-kilometer long Multan-Khanewal section of the Multan-Faisalabad Motorway, to be built with an estimated cost of Rs 14 billion.The Prime Minister was accompanied by Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa and Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah, at the ground-breaking ceremony. Minister for Communication Arbab Alamgir was also present.
