Summary Countrywide rallies were held Wednesday against American and in support of Pakistan Army.
Scores of people staged a rally in Multan. PTI Women Wing leaders and workers took out a procession on Tariq Road, Multan and called on the US to stop propaganda against Pakistan. The participants said the US was blaming Pakistan to divert attention from its own defeat in Afghanistan. Traders also joined the project after staging a separate rally.In Karachi, students and teachers from various schools and Karachi staged a sit-in outside the Karachi Press Club on the call of the All Pakistan Scholars Management Association. The students shouted slogans in favour of the Pakistan Army, calling it the best army of the world.Lawyers staged a rally from courts to the GPO Chowk on The Mall in Lahore. The lawyers said the nation was united and no army of the world can defeat united Pakistanis.Protests were also held yesterday, with thousands of protesters from the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) marching to the US consulate general in the port city of Karachi to condemn US threats.In other protests, hundreds of tribesmen in Landikotal, a town on the northwest border with Afghanistan, threatened the United States with holy war if Pakistan was attacked.
