Summary Supreme Court has instructed all parties involved to maintain the status quo

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued a written order for today's (Friday) hearing on the petition of the Supreme Court Bar against the Pakistan Bar Council.

The order, which was written by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and spans three pages, states that the Pakistan Bar Council has deposed the secretary and additional secretary of the Supreme Court Bar. In response, notices were issued to the Attorney General and the Pakistan Bar Council.

The Supreme Court has instructed all parties involved to maintain the status quo until the order of the court. The hearing of the case will be held on May 9 at 1 pm.

The petition filed by the Supreme Court Bar alleges that the Pakistan Bar Council violated the law and the constitution of Pakistan by deposing the secretary and additional secretary of the Supreme Court Bar without proper legal grounds.
