National Assembly’s Standing Committee for Petroleum held a meeting under the chairmanship of Sardar Talib Nakai in parliament house. Federal Petroleum Minister Dr Asim, briefing the committee, said that petrol prices are likely to be increased with the increase of dollar price. He also said that in order to maintain a difference of 55 pc between CNG and petrol prices, increase in CNG prices is under consideration.Secretary Petroleum Ejaz Chaudhry told the committee that summary regarding the appointment of managing directors of gas companies has been sent to Prime Minister which is likely to be approved today.Chairman LPG association Irfan Khokhar said that LPG mafia has looted Rs 350 billion during the last 7 years. Committee has recommended the OGRA should work under petroleum ministry.
