Summary Qureshi slates FM Bilawal over ‘attacks’ on 1973 constitution
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Sunday that the constitution made by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was facing threat from his nephew Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
He said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz decided to attack the constitution and the Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah tried to pressurize the judiciary while mentioning the 1973 constitution - which was formulated by one Bhutto - faced attack from another Bhutto (Bilawal Bhutto).
PTI’s vice-chairman added the incumbent government asked the PTI to be present in the assembly and on the other hand, the speaker of the National Assembly was hindrance in this way.
He said the constitution was clear that the elections needed to be held within the 90 days and there was the apex court’s verdict that supported this view while adding the PML-N and PPP also filed nomination papers and contrarily they were saying polls should not be held.
He said the bill which the government planning to bring to the parliament showed its nervousness regarding the popularity of Imran Khan mentioning the silence of the PPP was not enough and it should be clear whether it was with or against the constitution.
