Power crisis intensifies in Karachi

The Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) has sought government help to overcome expected electricity crisis in Karachi after Sui Southern Gas Company has decreased its supply to the city.According to KESC spokesman, smooth electricity supply to the residential and commercial areas of Karachi was not possible as Sui gas supply was further decreased.He said that the loadshedding duration in residential and commercial areas will reach 10 hours if the situation did not change.On the other hand, the city witnessed additional loadshedding despite weekly holiday. Meanwhile, millions of people in different parts of Karachi are without electricity as KESC failed to remove faults caused by rain while dozens of PMT were declared defaulters in the city.
