GHQ attack case: Convicted attackers to challenge verdict

Summary Seven convicted of the GHQ attack case have decided to challenge the verdict in Military Court.

One of the accused was awarded death imprisonment, four life imprisonment and two for eight and seven years.As per detail, a retired officer of Army medical corps Aqeel alias Dr Usman was awarded death penalty while Imran Siddique was given life imprisonment.Three others Khaleequr Rehman, Muhammad Usman and Wajid Ali were awarded life imprisonment while Muhammad Adnan and Tahir Shafeeq were penalized for eight and seven years successively.All of above-mentioned convicts were regarded as friends of Aqeel and allegedly aware of plan to hit the GHQ.Wajid Ali’s counsel Col Inaam said that he had intention to challenge the verdict of Military Court. The appeal would be moved into Army Appeal Court after having the copy of judgment.
