Summary Zahid Khan said a privileged motion would be tabled if Khyber Pakhtunkhwa referred as KP.
Presiding officer Kazim Khan chaired the Senate session on Friday. A report was submitted to the house by Senior Federal Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi regarding the performance of the Utility Stores Corporation.According to the report, some 7,359 workers were hired by the Utility Stores Corporation in last three years on contract or daily wages.It further said that 3,591 workers in Punjab, 1,384 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 1,704 in Sindh and 680 workers were recruited in Balochistan.State Minister for Industries and Production Sardar Bhadur Khan could not give satisfactory answers to the house about the subsidised edible commodities.Senators Ishaq Dar, Zahid Khan and Ismail Bolidi protested at this, saying that why the minister concerned did not turn up before the house as the state minister was unaware with his ministry’s affairs.Speaking on a point of order, ANP’s Senator Zahid Khan said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should not be written as KP in the parliamentary record, adding that a privileged motion would be tabled if Khyber Pakhtunkhwa referred as KP again.The house adopted the power generation, supply and distribution bill 2011.The house proceeding were adjourned until Monday.
