Gilani cancels US visit due to floods

Due to the destruction caused by floods in interior Sindh and to monitor the rescue work, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani cancelled his visit to the United States.Dunya News reported that Gilani was supposed to go to New York to attend the annual General Assembly session of the United Nations and were to address the UN Security Council.But the visit has been cancelled as the interior Sindh is facing severe floods and people are suffering a great deal of misery there.Instead of going to attend the UN session, Gilani will visit the flood-hit areas and will monitor the rescue operation.The members of the flood relief committee will also accompany him during his visit to the flood-stricken areas.Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar will now lead the Pakistan delegation to the UN.
