Summary Rain fury came to an end in Sindh and started in upper parts of the country.
A number of signboards and polls came down due to heavy rain in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpinidi.According to the Pakistan Metrological Department, weather would be clear throughout Sindh while new spell of rain would start in upper parts of the country.Heavy rain accompanied with thunder-lightening lashed the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Wednesday evening.The commuters between the twin cities faced problems as the road were submerged in knee deep water. Motorists were stranded as visibility was poor due to heavy rain and wind.Long traffic jams were witnessed on Islamabad Highway, Murree Road and other roads, while motocyclists were seen taking shelter under bridges and flyovers.The rain was not unpredictable as wind pressure had accumulated over sky of the twin cities, which normally results in heavy rain. People came out of houses to enjoy rain which turned the weather pleasant.Director General of Met Office Arif Mehmood said light to moderate rain would continue during next 48 hours in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.According to met analysis, weak to moderate monsoon currents are still penetrating over upper parts of the country while a westerly wave is also affecting the northern areas.
