ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan had expressed displeasure towards the incumbent Punjab government for making efforts to take back the case of the Sharif family’s sugar mills.

Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan presided over the three-member bench of the Apex Court and heard the petitions against the Sharif Sugar Mills.

The Punjab government requested to take back the case against the Sharif mills which made the court displeased. Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi asked about the reason why the Punjab government was so keen to not follow the case.

A Representative of the Punjab Industries and Commerce Department said the matter of sugar mills had been resolved. The court replied the case was still in court so how the issue could be resolved?

Meanwhile, the court ordered the government to take back its letter regarding the case which was still in court. The hearing was postponed till February 28.
