Summary Another two patients have died of dengue fever in Lahore.

The latest deaths bring the total number of people killed by dengue virus in the city to 10. Some 539 people have been confirmed afflicted with dengue virus in the city over the last 24 hours. On the other hand, at least 350 policemen, who mostly perform duties outdoors, have been affected by the virus.30-year-old Rafaqat from Walton lost his life to the dengue virus in Services Hospital, while 46-year-old Rao Ashraf of Chauburji died at a private hospital. Official statistics put the total of number of dengue patients in Punjab is over 6,000. However, it is feared the actual number of patients is higher. As many as 142 patients were diagnosed with dengue in the private hospitals of Lahore in the last 24 hours.In government hospital, 163 were diagnosed positive at Mayo Hospital, 72 at Ganga Ram, 79 at Jinnah Hospital, 11 at Services, 30 at Sheikh Zayed and two at General Hospital. The Chief Minister has directed a probe into complaints of overcharging dengue patients at some hospitals for tests and medicines.
