Farzana Raja underlines need for peace in region

Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Farzana Raja underscored the need for greater coordination between national and regional plans to achieve SAARC countries’ common objectives of poverty alleviation, food security and energy security. Speaking as leader of Pakistan Delegation at a Panel Discussion of First Meeting of South Asia Forum here, Farzana said socio-economic disparities within the region have to be addressed to attain objectives of women empowerment and better health and education facilities.She said that protection of rights of the people of Pakistan is top priority of the government and Benazir Income Support Programme is playing vital role to achieve this goal.
