Wasan rules out any army operation in Karachi

Manzoor Wasan ruled out any army operation in the city, stating paramilitary forces and police were endeavoring jointly to restore peace. He stated that the provincial government had formed Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in all five zones of Karachi for taking indiscriminate action criminals.Wasan said that at least 63 target killers have been arrested during the surgical operations carried out by the law enforcement agencies in the city. Six judges had been appointed to special courts in compliance with the Supreme Court’s order, he added.Without mentioning Zulfiqar Mirza’s name, Wasan said why was the release of target killers over the past three years not mentioned earlier. He added that Mirza’s resignations from two posts had been accepted and the party would make the rest of the decisions.
