Summary Rehman Malik has said indiscriminate action is being taken against all for peace in Karachi.
He said peace would be restored in all parts of the city and the safety of life and property of the people would be ensured. He said 12 target-killers have been arrested in Karachi in six days.The interior minister gave in-camera briefing to the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the law and order situation. In the mid-break, the minister told the media that surgical operations are being carried out so that no party have the feeling that they are being discriminated against. He said Lyari is not a no-go area, while action is being taken on credible information from intelligence agencies. Action would also be taken in Lyari at appropriate time, he added.Rehman Malik said target-killers, extortionists (Bhatta Khor) and other criminals have been arrested in the last six days of action. He said legal formalities are being completed before t5arget-killers could be shown to the media.The interior minister said people and organisations squabble over collection of sacrificial animals’ hides and other charity money. He said he would write to the Pm to seek legislation banning all such activities. He said political parties do not have any right to collect money this way.He also said all have been ordered to remove flags of political parties across Karachi, warning that the area SHO would be removed if the ordered were not implemented within 48 hours. Malik claimed that he had backing of all political parties to restore peace in Karachi.
