Apart from agriculture point of view, production of hydropower is also likely to rise as well.According to Indus River System Authority level of water in Tarbela Dam has risen by 1548.5 feet which only low to 1.5 feet to the maximum capacity of the afore-said dam.WAPDA officials in Lahore said that Tarbela Dam has been filled from technical point of view; anyhow, there is no danger to the dam as dam safety system is active.The quantity of accumulated water in the dam is estimated 6.5 million square feet which would be enough for cultivation of corn crop. Chairman IRSA Rao Irshad Ali said that no the all the four provinces would not complain 30% shortage of water in the nest coming season.WAPDA officials said that level of water in Mangla Dam is 1205 feet which is less only by five feet as compared to maximum capacity. They added that they would also endeavour to make it filled with more water as new spell of monsoon is yet in action in the country.
