Summary Sindh Governor Ishratul Ebad Khan called on President Zardari to discuss Karachi situation with him.
Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan Thursday night called on President Asif Zardari and discussed with him steps being taken in Karachi to restore peace and calm.Surgical operation being conducted by rangers, police and other law enforcement agencies in the city and matters regarding return of MQM to federal and provincial governments, crackdown against miscreants also came under discussion in the meeting.According to the sources, in the one-hour long meeting the president took the governor into confidence over the steps being taken by the Sindh government in the city.The president held that peace of the city of Quaid would be restored at all costs and indiscriminate action would be taken against the miscreants. The sources added that the president addressd the MQM’s reservations regarding misconception about its return as government allies.The president hoped, said the sources, that MQM would soon become part of the government and play its role to strengthen democracy in the country.
