Summary Sindh High Court has adjourned hearing of a plea seeking full bench to hear May 12 killings case.
Over 50 people had been killed by armed gangs when Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry visited the Karachi metropolis as part of the campaign for the restoration of the judiciary. When the hearing started, SHC Chief Justice Musheer Alam and Justice Imam Bakhsh Soomro, comprising a division bench, remarked that the May 12 incident is sensitive and the decision to form or not to form a full bench would be taken after Eid holidays. The petitioner, Iqbal Kazmi, said a five-member bench was earlier hearing the case, while the bench composition was reduced to two members afterwards, which, he said, isn’t appropriate.
