Summary President has signed summary for raising pays of postgraduate trainee doctors in house job.
The news has added to Eid festivities of doctors, as medics danced to tunes of drums in Islamabad on hearing news of approval of new service structure for themThe house officers’ pay has been raised form Rs 18,000 to Rs 50,000, while the pay of a medical officer will be raised to Rs 60,000 a month in addition to Rs 6000 annual increment.Under the changes, non-practising allowance for doctors working in federal hospitals will be increased from Rs 20,000 to Rs 80,000 a month, while pays for nurses has been raised to Rs 40,000 a month.The pay raise has reportedly been allowed under the Career Structure for Health Personnel Ordinance of 2011.
