Summary Opposition leader Ch Nisar Ali Khan said people seeking Army in Karachi were not its well-wishers.
If Army once entered narrow and congested streets of the city, it would be difficult for it to come out of it.He said this in statement while throwing light on the law and order situation in Karachi. He said that coalition parties were playing a trick under the guise of restoration of peace in Karachi, adding that some of them were patronising miscreants for its vested interests. He said if the government was desirous of giving some constitutional power to the Army, this issue must be discussed in the parliament. The PML-N is preparing a requisition to submit in the session of the National Assembly on Karachi issue, he added. “If there would be deemed necessary to give constitutional role to Army at Karachi , then it should be discussed in the parliament, which would has to decide in this regard,” Nisar added. He said that the action at Karachi could be monitored by forming a parliamentary committee as the turmoil is not only a administrative but also a political problem. He said that Rangers did not fail in Karachi but as a matter of fact the government was unsuccessful there because it does not want to give authority to Rangers and police.“Whenever Asif Zardari tangles in any different situation , he used to go Sindh after wearing Sindhi cap and Ajrak to collect the sympathies of the people. But when Sindh province is inundated with flood, or Karachi is burring then he either goes to any foreign trip or stays at Islamabad,” Chaudhary Nisar added.
