The Core Committee of PPP on Tuesday extended full support of the party and the Federal Government to the provincial government in restoring law and order in Karachi.A meeting of the Core Committee of the PPP was held in the Presidency, presided over by its Co Chairman and President Asif Ali Zardari and attended by Prime Minister Syed Yusaf Raza Gilani. It was participated by Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari, Leader of the House in Senate, Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Minister for Commerce, Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar, Minister for Defence, Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah, Minister for Religious Affairs, Syed Naveed Qamar, Minister for Water and Power, Senator Dr. Babar Awan, Senator Jahangir Badar, Nazar Mohammed Gondal, Raja Pervaz Ashraf, Ms. Rukhsana Bangash, Ms. Fauzia Habib, Senator Faisal Raza Abidi, Senator Sardar Ali Khan, Ms Mehreen Anwar Raja and Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar.Briefing the media, Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar said that the meeting appreciated the decision taken by the provincial government of Sindh to take stern action against all extortionists and criminal elements in different parts of Karachi, in an across-the-board manner and regardless of party affiliations.The Spokesperson said that the meeting also appealed to all political parties and general public to support the provincial government in maintaining law and order in Karachi and restoring normalcy to the city.During the meeting, the President also called the Chief Minister Sindh to assure him of the full support of the Party and the Government in dealing with an iron hand with the criminal elements in all parts of the city that are affected by violence and lawlessness.
