Summary A plea has been filed in the Supreme Court to call army in Karachi to restore peace.

The plea was filed by Tariq Assad Advocate who moved the court under the article 232 to deploy the army so that people of Karachi could get rid of gang wars and extortionists. The Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Chief Secretary Sindh have been made respondents in the plea. It may be pertinent to mention that a similar plea was filed in the Sindh High Court today praying for the deployment of army in the city. Meanwhile, Pir Pagara has said the deployment of army would pave the way for martial law in the country.
