Summary The electricity short fall has reached 3,762 megawatt due to the current surge in demand.

According to Pakistan Electric Power Supply Company, there is a gap of 3,762 megawatt between the production and consumption of electricity in the country.The country is generating 14,779 megawatt while the demand is 18,541.Power is being suspended with the interval of an hour since last night in Lahore.The loadshedding is being observed in Karachi according to schedule but line faults are causing power suspension in various areas.There is a power outage of 8 to 10 hours in urban areas and 10 to 12 hours in the urban areas of Multan region.The situation is worse in Balochistan where power supply is being provided to the rural regions only for four hours while Quetta is getting supply for eight hours.
