Summary US Counsel General William Martin met with Sindh Interior Minister Manzoor Wasan at his residence.
Talking to the media after the meeting, the interior minister said that the counsel general had expressed concerns over unrest in Karachi, adding that the US wanted peace in Sindh.He said that certain powers were behind the deteriorating law and order condition of Sindh.The minister said that land grabbers wanted to destabilise the province by fanning linguistic differences.He said that the operation in Malir, Rabia City and Landhi was ordered after the incidents of firing.He went on to add that 101 suspects were arrested and police seized 19 pistols and 52 rounds of bullets.The minister said that peace in Karachi is linked with Pakistan’s positive image at the international level.He said that the implementation of the dual administrative system was an experiment of the Pakistan People’s Party government.
