During hearing, the plaintiff counsel Barrister Maqsooma and defence counsel Baber Awan exchanged hot words.The LHC bench comprising Chief Justice Ijaz Chaudhry and Justice Mazher Iqbal Sindu conducted hearing of the case.The defense counsel Senator Babar Awan was of the view that the entire amount had been paid, adding that the president had issued an amended Ordinance of the Criminal Procedure due to which the accused arrested for two years may be released on bail.One the other hand, the Punjab Government lawyer said that this law could not be applied to NAB cases.Barrister Maqsooma told the court that the Advocate General and other lawyers had been receiving life threats from all the accused involved in this case.The court, after hearing both sides, rejected the bail plea of Sheikh Afzal.
