Summary APCNGA has rejected rise in gas price as unfair, says a press release issued on Monday.
All Pakistan CNG Association Chairman Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha said the government should not approve this rise during Ramadan because people already are facing heavy gas loadshedding. This unjustified rise has been carried out to cover gas theft by the SNGPL and SSGC, he added.“We were promised that gas price hike will be applied to all sectors and new CNG price will have difference of 45% from petrol price, but the new announcement of price hike is against the promise. The CNG sector consuming 7.2% gas tariff has increased to 571.88 rupees per mmBTU while the fertilizer sector consuming 36% gas tariff is still on 102 rupees per mmBTU. This is total imbalance and much unfair to the 20 million daily consumers of CNG,” he said.“We request the petroleum minister to take action against gas thieves instead. Now the government has compelled us to think about protest and closure of CNG stations,” the All Pakistan CNG Association chairman warned.
