Summary Following Karachi and Hyderabad, Local Government 2001 has been restored throughout Sindh province.
A higher level meeting was held in Chief Minister’s House in which draft was prepared regarding removal of Commissionerate System and restoration of Local Government 2001 throughout Sindh.Later, Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan signed the Sindh Local Government Amended Ordinance 2001 in the early hours of Monday which would immediately come into force.According to the ordinance, the Commissionerate System has been removed while Local Government 2001System has been restored throughout Sindh at the position of July 9, 2011.Earlier, Local Government System 2001 was restored in Karachi and Hyderabad on August 6.
