Summary Indus River System Authority (IRSA) rejected Sindhs request to suspend water supply to Punjab.

The Sindh government has protested against the release of 13,000 cusecs water from Tarbela Dam to Punjab for irrigation purposes. The Sindh government has written a letter to the IRSA, stating that Punjab had already been facilitated with its share of average 112,000 cusecs water from Mangla Dam and other water reservoirs, however, the authority accommodated the province with an additional water release of 13,000 cusecs. The Sindh government strongly criticised the performance of the authority, expressing reservations that temperature in the country had already been decreasing and it would further go down in the next 18 to 20 days, causing water shortage in reservoirs because of reduced melting of glaciers. On the other hand, Chairman IRSA Rao Irshad Ali said Sindh was being provided three percent more than its due share, adding that Sindh was given water share from Manglad Dam in April as well.Despite Sindh concerns over the ongoing water supply to Punjab, IRSA revved up water supply to 4,000 cusecs from Chashma Jhelum Link Canal and 3,000 cusecs from Taunsa-Panjnad Link Canal.
