Summary Railways crisis has deepened and passengers suffer due to delay in departure and arrival of trains.
The Railways crisis has deepened further and various trains traveling from Quetta, Peshawar and Karachi to Lahore were delayed by two to 11 hours while few trains departure was cancelled due to unavailability of locomotives.Karakorum Express which travels from Karachi to Lahore has been stranded at the Janiwala Railway Station due to engine failure. Alternative engine was not provided to carry the train to Lahore.Whereas, Karachi Express arrival to Lahore was delayed by two hours, Quetta Express will reach Lahore 6 hours late while Jafar Express which travels from Quetta to Lahore was delayed by two hours.The delay in arrival and departure of the trains during the Ramazan, however, creating more problems for the faithfuls.All the trains travelling to Peshawar are delayed by hours while Quetta Express which travels from Peshawar to Quetta has been cancelled. Meanwhile, Khyber Mail arrival was delayed by 8 hours and Khushal Express’ arrival was delayed by 11 hours.According to Railways sources, Quetta Express, which left Peshawar on Wednesday, reached Quetta at 8:00am today (Friday) after 14 hours delay.
