Summary Nonpayment of bills worth Rs1.22 billion on the part of federal departments was challenged in LHC.

The petitioner’s counsel Rana Ilmuddin Ghazi filed a request in the LHC, pleading that some of the federal departments were not paying their due bills to the tune of billions of rupees.The lawyer further said that the WAPDA was not taking any action against the defaulters. “If a common does not pay the bill for one month, stern action is taken against him.”He prayed to the court to take action against WAPDA and the departments of the federal government.On the other hand, the LHC Chief Justice disposed off suo moto case of Indian female prisoners who were kept behind the bars despite having served their jail terms.The jail administration told the court that both women had been released and they have reached India.
