Urban areas are facing electricity load shedding for 7 hours a day on average while many rural areas 11 hours or more.PEPCO says demand is 17,643MW against production of 14,120MW. KESC is being supplied 780MW. PEPCO sources say hydel power production stands at 5,500MW, thermal 2,062MW, IPPs 6,383MW and rental plants 170MW.
