Summary British Immigration Minister Damian Green called on Interior Minister Rehman Malik.
Both the leaders discussed various issues including matters relating with immigration and problems being faced by Pak immigrants and students. The meeting held in a cordial atmosphere and both the home ministers exchanged views on matters of mutual interest.Interior Minister said Pakistan attached great importance to its relations with Britain and the ties between the two countries would strengthen in the days to come. He regretted the delay Pakistani students faced in acquiring visa for the UK. Our students come to Great Britain using lawful and legal means therefore, they should be treated with leniency, said Rehman Malik.Rehman Malik also sought the British government’s help and facilitating for a common Pakistani who applies for the British visa and seeks it back at any time. Since the visa processing is being carried out by a single company in Pakistan and its outlets are very few in number, UK visa applicants have to wait for months and thus they face a great deal of difficulty.
