Summary The Pakistan Meteorological Department has said that the monsoon rains will persist for three days.

The PMD forecast scattered rain and thundershower with isolated heavy falls in upper and Southern Punjab including Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir during the next 2-3 days.Scattered rain and thundershower also expected in upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Bahawalpur, Hyderabad, Karachi, Makran divisions and Kashmir during the next 24 hours, said daily weather report.According to synoptic situation well marked seasonal low lies over Balochistan with its trough extending southeastward. Monsoon currents of moderate to strong intensity are reaching upper parts of the country and a shallow trough of westerly wave is also present over northern areas.Parts of upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan Kashmir and Islamabad received rain during the last 24 hours. Scattered rain and dust-thundershower with isolated moderate to heavy falls is expected in Sindh including Karachi and Northeast Balochistan/Makaran coast during the next 24-36 hours.The rainfall recorded in different cities during the last 24 hours was Balakot 16 mm, Malam Jabba 21 mm, Badin 31 mm, Risalpur 175 mm and Kakul and Rawlakot 06 mm.During the last 24 hours, maximum temperature, 44 degree Celsius, was recorded in Dalbandin while 29 in Islamabad, 35 in Lahore , 37 in Quetta, 40 in Multan, 35 in Karachi, 29 in Peshawar, 36 in Gilgit, 19 in Murree and 37 degree Celsius was recorded in Faisalabad.
