Senate standing committee passes bill to ban corporal punishment

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights has passed a bill to ban all forms of corporal punishment for children with amendments.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) National Assembly member Mehnaz Akbar Aziz tweeted that the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights has passed the Corporal Punishment Bill 2021 adding that this is a big day for the children of Pakistan.

Leading singer Shahzad Roy thanked Mehnaz Akbar in a reply and praised her efforts in protecting children.

The bill was introduced in the Senate by Senator Sadia Abbasi.
