Summary Former president Pervez Musharraf said that the Pak-US ties were not restricted to war on terrorism.
Addressing a US think tank in Washington, Musharraf said that the US again started betraying Pakistan.He said that blame game would not benefit anyone, adding that a 1989 like situation would emerge after the withdrawal of the US troops from Afghanistan. He said that the Abbottabad incident was the negligence of authorities. But he questioned how the CIA operatives could live in a house beside Osama’s compound, if the ISI were sheltering Osama. The former president said that a strain in Pak-US ties could be harmful for Pakistan.To a question, Musharraf said that Benazir made an agreement with him of not returning to Pakistan before the general elections but she violated it.
