Summary The CM has approved establishment of Punjab Disaster Response Force to cope with natural disasters.
A high level meeting held under the chair of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in which it was decided that the force will work under the supervision of the Provincial Disaster Management Commission and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority.However, its operational commond has been given to Punjab Emergency Services and it will work under DCO at district level. Its basic duty is to provide relief to the masses and to protect their property and lives in emergency situations.
