Rising inflation negates claims of economic recovery: Sirajul Haq

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Leader Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq has said that increase in poverty, unemployment and inflation rate negates the government’s claims of improvement in the economy.

Siraj-ul-Haq said in a statement on Thursday that the poverty stricken population of Pakistan is cursing the day when PTI came to power. The Prime Minister has taken a thousand u-turns in the last 1000 days. The government is going to present its third budget, but without any clear direction.

He said that the PTI government has also broken the previous records of incompetence. Honest and competent people have to come forward. Ambiguities in policy making and bad governance have become trademarks of the PTI government.

He demanded that at least five percent of GDP should be set aside for education and health in the next budget, as the situation would worsen if the wealth of the people is not spent on them.
