Summary LHC disposes of petition against appointment of SAPMs

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Lahore High Court has disposed of the petition against the appointment of Special Advisers and Special Assistants to the Prime Minister after the petition was withdrawn.

According to details, the petitioner’s counsel Nadeem Sarwar withdrew the petition after eight hearings in the Lahore High Court.

The petition had been filed against the appointment of 16 aides of the PM, including Shahzad Akbar. It is pertinent to mention that LHC Chief Justice Qasim Khan had sought the details of Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh’s assets in one of the hearings.

In the petition, the advisers and aides of the Prime Minister were made parties and the position was taken that the appointments had been enacted against the law. Therefore, the appointment of aides and advisers to the Prime Minister should be quashed.
