Contract employees of NHA, NHMP to be regularised in 10 days

The Senate Standing Committee for Transport and Communication met under Senator Wali Muhammad Badini. Transport Minister Arbab Alamgir said it has been decided to regularise daily-wagers and contract employees of NHA and Motorway Police within ten days.He said Rs 33 billion out of Rs 39 billion allocated for NHA will be distributed amongst all the provinces on an equitable basis. Last year NHA Balochistan was only paid Rs 2.9 billion against the share of Rs 9 billion. This year too funds couldn’t be dispatched to the provinces by June 30 because of scarcity of reserves, said sources.Balochistan senators protested the delay of uplift funds and threatened to boycott the next session.
