ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federal cabinet on Friday approved the draft of amendments in the Election Act 2017, Dunya News reported. The federal cabinet approved the amendment in Election Act 2017 through summary circulation.

According to the ordinance, elected representatives must take oath with 60 days otherwise the seat will become vacant and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will de-seat such lawmakers.

The ordinance will come into force after the signature of the President. According to sources, the ordinance will apply to national, provincial assemblies, the Senate and local bodies.
