Summary British newspaper Guardian claimed that the US is pressurising Pakistan to release Dr Shakil Afridi.
Dr Shakil Afridi was arrested by the Pakistani authorities after the Abbottabad operation.Guardian claimed that Dr Shakil had been appointed by the CIA to run a fake vaccination programme in Abbottabad to try to get DNA samples from the al-Qaida leaders suspected hideout.According to the newspaper, the American authorities are trying to get the Pakistani doctor released and then shift him to the United States along with his family.
