Summary It has been cleared that horse trading in elections doesn't occur at individual level: Shahbaz

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Political Communication Shahbaz Gill on Monday has said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) don’t want transparent Senate elections.

In a post on social-networking website Twitter, the special assistant said it has been cleared that horse trading in elections doesn’t occur at individual level.

Senate election is money making season for three families, he went on to say.

The reaction came after JUI challenged presidential ordinance for conducting elections of Senate through open ballot in Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP).

JUI in its plea, termed the presidential ordinance as irrational and unconstitutional and said that the ordinance was borne out of malicious intent.

The plea, while requesting the apex court to declare the ordinance null and void, argued that the step of government sabotages autonomy of Supreme Court of Pakistan and the Parliament.
